My father's in town for a few days on business and we went out for dinner tonight. I had a really lovely seafood spread with scallops that melted in the mouth. Yum. I think I ate enough to not need to eat anything all weekend, I'm so full.
He was inordinately curious about who I've been hanging out with in Tokyo, and was accusing me of being happier than normal. It's like that's a bad thing. Parents can be very unnecessarily nosey.
On slightly less concerning topics, I'm currently looking for a person to take my cute kouhai out on a date. He's probably the only nice person I know from back in the day and even if he had a stupid growth spurt in the past few years, he's still very cute.
Bonus points if you like bunnies and baked goods. And freckles.

The true question; will your attempts at finding someone else be more successful this time than the last time you tried?
[Screened]
...What exactly did you tell your father about. You know. You and I?

[Screened]
I was very successful at finding someone for you, what are you talking about?
And... nothing? Just that you continue to be someone I hang out with a lot.

That was before we started our... relationship. Though I suppose you did settle on someone I have good chemistry with in the end.
See, he approached me this morning at the tailend of my usual run and invited me out for coffee. I'm not sure what that means?

I never did get that date.
... I'm going to call him. Hang on.

We went to Seoul for an entire week shopping and visiting interesting places. There was even kissing involved. Does that not count?
I suppose it is good at least one member of your family does not hate me? It still feels somewhat suspicious to be singled out now though...

[Screened]
... No it doesn't count as a date. That was a preplanned holiday, kissing included.
I'm sure my mother doesn't hate you. And my sister is so fond of you. And he's probably just going to threaten you, much like how you do to me with smoothies, it's fine.

What would an actual date imply then, with the apparent condition nothing about it is allowed to be preplanned?
I'm not sure whether that was a heads up or a warning on what family madness I am getting myself involved with...

[Screened]
I'm not quite sure. What would you want to do on a date, Eishirou? Besides beat me up in a dojo?
You knew all about my family madness. Except the situation with all my second cousins. I think they're still bitter about how my grandfather split his money.

...I have been to musea and dinner for dates. Also a zoo, once. I think it really depends on what you want to do for these kinds of things.
I did know your family madness, I'm just not sure whether your father's report on what all trouble is brewing where is meant to update me or scare me off.

I don't really go on dates. Even back in junior high I didn't really, they cut too much into team time. I suppose I walked a girl home from school once back in elementary school. That was tiring, my driver had to follow behind us the entire time with Rei in the back so he could drive me home after.
Probably just update you, since he has a view probably quite similar to yours when it comes to my family.

We have dinner together all the time. Doesn't that count? It usually ends in kissing and occasionally more than that. That seems like the sort of content that a date would consist of.
That the family hitmen might very well be around the corner to slay him at the press of a button?

[Screened]
No, I feel like because those are almost routine and normal now, they don't. Maybe if we count Seoul as a date, we can go on another one next holidays.
Did he tell you we have family hitmen? Because I keep telling you we got rid of those in WW2.

If you wanted to go on another trip with me you only needed to say so, you know. But I suppose if our usual routine doesn't suffice that works too.
He insinuated something that may or may have been about family hitmen. Your father is very well-versed in doublespeak.

Maybe over winter break. I'm not sure. We could escape somewhere warm.
... There are no family hitmen anymore. And is he? I've always found him a very openly straight forward man but I suppose he has to survive my grandmother somehow.

Warm seems good. It's already cooling down. How anyone lives in a cold place like Tokyo will forever baffle me.
He very vaguely insinuated otherwise. Much like he vaguely insinuated he might drop by unannounced again without outright saying so.

He just wants to talk. And is ridiculously fond of you.
